Do you belong to a tribe?

We authors are often such solo creatures and it’s easy to forget that you’re part of a tribe. No matter how niche, I think you should enjoy hanging out with others in person or on social media. Your tribe loves you. Your tribe tells you what you want to know. Your tribe is your first best customer.

You’ve heard of Kevin Kelly’s 1000 True Fans, no? If not, please do look at that. These are the people on the front lines of Fandom for You.

Take a look at this video to understand the 1000 True Fans theory by Anna Do. You’ll be inspired.

Find your tribe, your true fans. Talk with them, share with them. Use Facebook Notes, use your own blog, other people’s blogs. Are you having fun? You should be having fun! (Yes, I said that. Social media should be fun.)

True fans will sign up for your email newsletter. This is permission marketing. The most valuable kind of marketing there is. These people want to hear from you. So please get one. I like MailChimp for many reasons, one of which is that it’s free for under 2000 email addresses. So get it here.

Okay? Tribe. Fans. Creating work that you love. What’s not to like?
